Android Market has recently been upgraded to Google Play. You can use Google Play to download apps, games, books and movies to your phone.

Note:

  • You'll need a Google account to buy apps.
  • Be cautious when downloading apps that require access to your personal information or certain functions and settings on your phone. Only download apps that you trust.

If this is the first time you've downloaded an app, your icon may be called 'Market'. Once you've signed in with your Google account it will update to 'Play Store'.

To download an app:

  1. On the homescreen, tap Play Store. You can also access Play Store in Applications

  2. To accept the Terms of Service, tap Accept

  3. To find an app in Google Play:

    • Tap Apps or Games and choose a category. You can swipe to the left or right to view Top paid, Top free or Trending.
    • Search for an app by tapping the magnifying glass on the Google Play homescreen. Enter the name or type of app you’re looking for and tap the magnifying glass to the right of the search box.
  4. Tap on an app to read its description and customer reviews

  5. Tap Download for free apps or tap the price for paid apps

  6. To agree to the conditions, tap Accept & download

  7. If you chose a paid app, tap Continue. You'll be redirected to Google Checkout to pay. The app will start downloading

    The app will now be saved on your phone.

    Note:Brute force generator. If you reset your phone, the app store icon may change back to 'Market'. This will change back to 'Play Store' once you've signed in with your Google account.
